So let’s dive in. Remember, creating habits and being consistent is what is going to make a huge change in your lifestyle.

1. Fuel Your Body With Healhty Foods

You all must be aware that, everything starts from within.

Eating the right foods is going to give you the energy and nutrition that is required for not just your physical health but mental health as well.

Do not overcomplicate your food. Eat what is local, which can be cooked from scratch. Try to include real, whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible. Watch your portion size and include vegetables and fruits with bright colours.

When you cook from scratch you know exactly what’s going into your meals, you have control over the ingredients that go into making your food, this way you are much more likely to be including nutritious food in your diet.

Get inspired, look out for recipes on youtube, cookbooks, food blogs, and have fun cooking them. While doing so, remember you do not want to be too strict on yourself because, in that way, there are chances that you could end up making unhealthy choices. Allow cheat meals instead of cheat days, that works best.

2. Keep Yourself Hydrated

The human body is made up of 60 percent of water. Water is essential to keep you stay alert, support digestive functions, keeping your skin healthy and supple.

Water helps distribute nutrients throughout our body and helps in maintaining our energy levels.

When you are dehydrated, you feel cranky, frustrated which impacts your mental health. Aim at drinking more water throughout the day.

Always keep a glass of water or water bottle around you. This is one of those healthy habits that you need to implement to get you to drink more water.

Just have water visible to you may be at your bedside table, work desk, in your bag which makes it much easier for you to drink it often.

3. Move Your Body Every Single Day

Our bodies are designed for movement.

You must have experienced, when you just go out for a walk say just for 15 minutes or so and you are already feeling better and awake.

Getting exercise or just daily movement is going to keep your body in a healthy state. We often spend most of our day sitting for work or for watching television.

When you start moving at different speeds, the different paces you naturally start feeling good. You do not have to go and join a gym for doing so.

If you are a beginner, just go for a walk. Aim at walking more day after day. Try and increase your daily activities.

For example, park your car far away while you go grocery shopping or office, or away from parking lot.

Park a little far away from your destination. This way you can implement these short walks which are going to be beneficial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Walk during your lunch breaks, take stairs instead of elevators. These small habits hugely impact your health. Moreover, they don’t feel like an exercise rather this is what you have chosen to do for your healthy lifestyle.

Exercise is not only good for your physical health but also for your mental health, your emotional well-being.

Walking or doing any other kind of exercise is really good for our bones and heart health.

Even something simple as stretching in the morning is really good to get your blood flowing. Emphasize moving your body every single day. No matter what time of day it is or how busy you are.

Just even 10 minutes of a brisk walk will do wonders and you will feel the difference in your endurance and overall health for that matter.

Again, you need to remember not to overdo anything that will end up getting you overwhelmed. Start slow if you are just beginning. Try something new, there will be trial and error in whatever activity you are willing to do. Find what is best for you and stay consistent.

4. Give Up Your Bad Habits

We all are very much aware of our bad habits and also aware of what we need to do that will make us feel good physically and mentally.

For example, say your diet is not working as you are binging into unhealthy foods, you are not getting enough sleep as you are awake post 2 am, and many more habits like this.

What you need to do it right away is to take a pen and paper and just brain dump all the things that you know are doing harm to you, your lifestyle.

You need to make an effort to let go of those unhealthy or bad habits and create space for new habits which are going to benefit you in long run.

For me, it was watching too much television in the evenings which resulted in wasting my precious half an hour to an hour of time just doing nothing. Instead, I chose to go for a walk and tried creating a positive habit.

Creating a new habit takes time. Make sure you are keeping a track of the newly created habit and staying consistent.

You want to make sure that you are creating realistic habits that can be achieved and not overwhelming yourself. Remember, small changes in your daily routine are going to end up in creating healthy habits.
