6 Simple Habits That Will Boost Your Morning Productivity

Being productive is not only tough but can be daunting.

With so much going on in our minds, starting the day with a healthy morning routine makes all the difference.

6 Simple Habits That Will Boost Your Morning Productivity

It often takes a few simple habits to get us feeling energized and boost our motivation that sets a perfect tone to be more productive in the morning.

Recently I have been working from home full time for my day job and for my blog. It’s so important for me to start my day on a productive note to manage both jobs simultaneously.

The idea of being productive, especially in the morning has changed my life for the best.

Earlier I used to be a night owl and my most productive time used to start in the evening from 6 pm onwards.

I firmly believed that I could never ever be a morning person. It seemed so hard (I used to think) always!

But these little steps rather habits kept me motivated, and energized and set me back on track to be more productive than ever before.

Working from home isn’t easy at all. Keeping oneself motivated is one of the biggest challenges that most of us face every day.

To be very frank I was never a self-productive type of person, rather a lazy one. I used to go to bed, post-midnight and used to wake up after 8 am.

Now looking back on where I came from, I realize the amount of time I wasted. Today to this day, I am still not as productive as I should be. This is something I deal with at times and it’s perfectly OK!

Being lazy or unproductive can never define your worth. It’s the small steps, those itsy bitsy habits that help us to get better with each day.

There are days and there will be days when you and I will not feel motivated, will be in no mood to do anything, just lie silently on the couch, or just want to binge-watch Netflix and hey, that’s absolutely OK too! don’t kill yourself over this!

But by adopting simple but easy day-to-day habits over the past year has really helped me to keep myself motivated when being unproductive just isn’t an option.

Having a healthy routine makes all the difference in being productive, especially in the morning when our brains are quite alert and ready to pump those productive juices!

So, let’s get into some helpful tips (habits) by implementing which you can boost your productivity and your motivation levels.

These tips (habits) are the things I implement every single day to get stuff done and be productive throughout the day.

These habits have made a huge difference in my day-to-day life to keep me on my toes without any stress or pressure.

1. Plan the night before

Yes, you heard it right “the night before”! I have had my share when I used to wake up and start planning my to-do list first thing in the morning.

It works no doubt, but that guesswork first thing in the morning seems stressful and the time wasted in thinking and jotting it down is too overwhelming sometimes. This is something coming from a person who used to be lazy and not so productive.

Understanding the tasks that need to be accomplished the next day and having them clearly noted in your journal, notebook, or planner a day ahead provides a sense of clarity.

The key here is to not get overwhelmed by the long list of tasks that need to be accomplished rather write down the task in order of importance and try to limit it only to 3-4 things at max.

These must be the things that will make your day more productive, and keep you motivated and ahead of time.

Remember, it’s not until the end of the day that you get a clear picture of what needs to get done the next day.

So before heading to bed always make sure to jot down the important task that needs your attention the next day.

2. Maintain A Regular Sleep Routine

Aim for up to 8 hours of quality sleep each night. Make sure you have a consistent sleep routine every night.

Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. This will help you to have a much better-focused mindset and lots of energy for the rest of the day.

Make sleep your number one priority and see the benefits for yourself!

3. Set Routines

By far this is the most important step to get productive in the morning.

Establishing routines can significantly boost your motivation and enhance your productivity in managing tasks.

Sticking to an effective morning routine in the first hours of your day will set you up for a successful, balanced and productive day ahead.

Having a perfect morning routine keeps you energized regardless of what situations come your way.

Remember, the key here is to make a routine that will help get you motivated.

There is no such thing as a perfect morning routine, so be kind to yourself and make a routine that is perfect for you and not stressful or overwhelming.

4. Tidy your space

Cluttered space ruins productivity!

No matter how productive you feel but when you are surrounded by clutter it subconsciously affects your productivity.

I have been there and have experienced it first-hand.

Having a tidy space to wake up is absolutely important. It helps us focus better and calms our minds.

Cluttered spaces not only make one feel overwhelmed, and uninspired but will demotivate and create a stressful environment.

5. Get Started….

I know … I know… this is so obvious, right? but you know what, this is actually the hardest step to take!

Get started on the task as soon as you can. Once we are done with our morning routines half of our battle is won.

We are already feeling a little motivated and productive so why delay?

There have been so many instances where I just did not feel like starting my laptop and sitting in front of it to get over with some seriously boring work but once you force yourself to start working, the magic happens and before you know instead of putting things away for another day you have actually started the work and have been productive throughout the day!

This feeling is absolutely mind-blowing!!

6. Eat a healthy breakfast

A healthy breakfast plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity in several ways

Starting the day with a nutritious breakfast provides the necessary energy to function effectively throughout the morning.

Having a healthy well-balanced breakfast that is rich in proteins, fiber and nutrition will help you focus on your important task and boost productivity throughout the day.

Nourishing your body is utterly important to be highly productive.

Never skip your breakfast!

People who eat breakfast are more likely to make healthy food choices during the rest of the day.

This consistent intake of nutritious food further supports cognitive function and energy levels.

A healthy breakfast sets a strong foundation for a productive day by energizing the body, boosting brain function, and contributing to overall physical and mental well-being.

So these are some of the most important baby steps that helped me to increase my productivity in the morning and transformed me from being a night owl to being active, focused and be productive all throughout the day.
